Don't Count Your Eggs

Oh Christie, how amazing! Thank you for sharing. I can't even fathom hearing heart beat. It's almost like I'm so focused on getting off IF Island I sometimes forget what's on the other side of the waters. A real miracle, that's what! Congrats again and I hope I can swim along side you soon.

Christie

Thank you so much! I still feel like it's a dream, after 2 years of TTC, it's so surreal. I did a fresh 5 day transfer. 25 eggs retrieved, 8 fertilized with ICSI and only two made it to day 5. My one miracle held on and we just saw and heard the heartbeat today :). My 2ww was very relaxed. I forced myself off the internet and was planted on my couch for 9 days straight, only getting up to use the bathroom and eat or take little walks. I read, I knitted, watched the entire series of "Breaking Bad", drank water and Gatorade like I was a camel and ate pineapple core. The hubs took off work the entire time and cooked and cleaned and took care of the dogs. I prayed, and prayed and prayed and talked to my babies and told them to hang on and I kept my hand on my belly the whole time. I felt very connected the whole time and enjoyed being PUPO. Unfortunately, the other didn't make it but our miracle stayed with us. 9 days later we went in for beta and I was so nervous I couldn't breathe. I gave my hubs my cell because I couldn't answer the call. When it rang he picked it up and just started crying and said thank you God, and I knew so I just cried so many happy tears. I thank God every day for his gift and giving us the opportunity to even be able to do IVF. This baby is truly our miracle...we didn't have anything to freeze so we may do this again in the near future...the money, the shots, the many trips to RE, the tears, the wait....ALL worth it when you hear that heartbeat. We are truly blessed. Much love to you and prayers...I know you will have your baby in your arms. XO

Thanks for all the prayers and support! Christie, OMG congrats!! That's such great and hopeful news. If you'd like to share more about how you made it through your 2WW and how you're feeling now we're all ears ;) Lauren, I'm so sorry about the cancellation. If you read back to my blog posts A YEAR AGO you will find my cancelled cycle--well not cancelled, but all our embryos fell apart and I had nothing to transfer. Its so devastating. But look at Christie, it does work. Some how, some way we will find out babies! Mimi, keep praying for Jr. Mint! I wanted to eat a TON of them today at work in the baskets of halloween crap but resisted and actually did eat an avocado! Thanks Ladies! Sending all my love and gratitude.

Lauren

Just started reading your blog today. Good luck to you! I can relate...I really hope my husband and I (over 2 and a half years trying now), can look back one day and be like wow, we overcame that. My 4th IVF was just cancelled but will hopefully do another one before the year is out.

Christie

Sending you prayers too!! I just went through my 2ww and one little bean stuck! It's true when you hear people say it only takes one :). Stay positive and hopeful...I'm rooting for you!!!

Mimi

I love your blog and want you to know I'm praying for your Jr.Mint to latch on and be born in my favorite month ... Lucky #7 July! Drink lots of liquids (including coconut water) along with pineapple, avocado and quesadillas!! Surround yourself with laughter and love from friends, family, and people who never met you ( via this blog). We are all sending prayers into the universe for your family to be......
